What Is The Time

by Moot Booxlé

/

about

I wrote this song in 2006, and slowly worked on a recording of it until late 2008, when it was decided that we'd include it on the collaboration album I did with Dan Banks entitled "Something Real".
In hindsight, I think it would have been wise not to include it on the album, since it's very different stylistically from Dan's music.
I'm offering it here as a single for that reason.
It's become a staple of my live shows...People dig the smooth groove and melody. I think you will too.

lyrics

What is the time when I can go outside and let the sunshine warm my bones
What is the time when I can feel alright inside my mind when I'm alone

What is the time when I'll be safe to walk around along the streets
Where is a place that I can go to find myself a bite to eat

Am I waiting here in vain for an imaginary train
Am I chasing after dreams that blow away

What is the time
I need to know for my peace of mind
Will it come soon
That all my dreams will be coming true

If I came and knocked upon your door and asked you for some help
Would you decline if clearly there was nothing in it for yourself
I am the voice of every man and woman every boy and girl
What is the time when we can get along with everybody in the world

Am I waiting here in vain for an imaginary train
Am I chasing after dreams that blow away

What is the time
I need to know for my peace of mind
Will it come soon
That all my dreams will be coming true

(repeat chorus)
