The Sun. That ball of hydrogen and helium at the center of our solar system (hence the name). For something that is so vital to our survival on Earth, it certainly poses a great potential danger to us. Perhaps this is why "sun worship" has been such a strong component of human civilizations (and is to this day).
As I write this, a strong Earth-facing solar Coronal Mass Ejection is careening toward us. This has happened many times recently, and each time "The Sun Cries Wolf"...not causing any significant damage. Let's hope it continues to do so...
